Reach for the Stars - Senior Day Goodies

Well, today is Senior Day for the softball team at my daughter's high school.  I had to make 5 more t-shirts for the other girls on the team who asked my daughter if I would mind.  They even offered to pay me.  What sweet kids, huh?  It was tough, but I got them done in time for tonight's softball game.  I also had time to make these for their gift bags.  It's not much, but it's amazing how much these girls seem to appreciate this handmade stuff....I would have never thought it.  I got the test tubes from an online store called Science Bob (great customer service).  The m&m's are from Michaels.  I used my imagine to print and cut the tags and they came together fast.  I love my imagine!  Keep your fingers crossed we win tonight.  That would stink to lose your last game of the regular season on home field.  Thanks for looking!

A Little Pi To Celebrate Your Retirement

My daughter's high school calculus teacher is retiring.  We loved her.  Well, Kate loved her, so I love her.  :)  She made math understandable and tear-free.  Kate's class is going to have a little party for her and she asked me to make a card.  I used From My Kitchen and Hello Kitty Font for this one.  There is an acetate window in the stove door that just doesn't photograph well.  It's so cute in person.  Really got lots of dimension you just can't see here.  I hate to see a well loved teacher  leave, but I wish her a wonderful life after NKHS.

Senior Day Softball Shirt

North Kingstown has a senior day for the softball team on Saturday.  They do a great job of honoring their seniors with posters and a little speech about each one and some other fun stuff.  I made Kate this shirt to wear to show off her senior status - cuz it's back to small fish, big pond come September.  I used cricut varsity letter and sports mania to cut out a stencil on freezer paper.  You can do a youtube search for cricut freezer paper if you want to watch a tutorial on how to do it.  I got a little anxious to take my paper off and didn't let the paint dry long enough, so you see the edges of my letters are raggedy...is that word?  I think she'll like it even if it's not perfect.  I am wondering if I will have to make more once the other seniors on her team see it.....I did pick up some extra t-shirts (on sale for $2 a shirt at Michael's this week) just in case.

A Weird Thank You Card

Made this card for my psych instructor.  I did kind of feel like a house had fallen on me during my semester with her.  I had just lost my Dad and returned to school after a semester out.  I should have known better than to give this to a psych instructor who has a keen nose for what she does...she asked me what kind of message I was trying to send here.  Deny, Deny, Deny.  ;)

Two Instructor Thank You Cards

The baby bottle card was for my clinical instructor for maternity.  She was an awesome instructor, but only taught for one year.  :(

The bee was for my lecture instructor for maternity.  Her name was Professor Beezer.  And, she was fabulous!  RIC lost a legend when she retired!
