Apple Crisp

Another 6 x 6 recipe page for ya.  These are like tiny works of art...so much fun to complete.  I did this one with my cameo for a dear friend who has a fabulous project in the works.  Thanks for peeking.

A Chef Bear

These are for the Teddy Bear Parade Swap I joined on the Cricut Circle MB.  Had to make 25 lil Chef Bears.  They are so cute in person.  Glossy accents on the eyes, and a really great shimmering metallic paper for the dome of his serving tray.  I used rhinestone buttons and added a lil twine to his bandana.  I think he's super cute and can't wait to get him back (along with the other bears from the swap).

BearBunnies From A HorseBunny

I am in a Teddy Bear Parade swap on the Cricut Circle MB.  I had to make 25 of these....the yellow, pink, and purple ones are flocked (thank you, T., for sending me all the MS flocking powder you found at Marshalls!).  There is also a glittered cream colored bearbunny, and plain cream colored one and a blue boy bearbunny.   These are so cute in person.  Hope my swap mates enjoy them.

A Thankful Turkey Tin

A big thank you to my Cricut Circle friend SkrappyKats, Eva, for sending me a dozen of these fabulous  nugget tins.  And another big thank you to my friend T. for sending me the best Russian candies ever that I used to fill this tin.  These candies taste great and have this fun fizzy stuff inside them.  I like them as much as my kids do!  They are fun to eat!

The cute lil turkey is an SVG from Kadoodlebug Designs that I made with my cameo.  I made the pilgrim belt band using my cricut and an edge punch.  It's a multi-machine effort here.  I think he came out really cute, and hope to make a few more of these in the near future.  Thanks for peeking in.

Slushy Pink Punch

Good Morning!  I  have for you this morning the last page of a year-long recipe page swap.  It is for the "Miscellaneous" category of a cookbook that was created with 9 other cricut friends.  The cookbook has 60 pages, 6 in by 6 in in size.  We have an appetizer section, a soup/salad section, a breads section, a main dish/side dish section, a dessert section, and to finish it off, a miscellaneous section.  All pages were created using cricut cuts.

I have to say that I am so thrilled that this project came to life.  I am sad to see it come to an end, but I am hoping to organize another recipe page swap that will run through 2013.  I have a theme in mind, and am waiting to finalize some details before I head over the cricut MB and try to round up some dedicated "cricuteers" for another swap for next year.....after I check with my group to see who is brave enough (aka:  crazy enough) to sign up for this again next year.

This page is a complete indulgence of my love for pink and glitter.  I used Summer in Paris and Create a Critter...and tons of glitter paper and glimmer mist and inks.  You need sunglasses to look at in direct sunlight....lol.   The recipe is printed on a card that slides out of the pocket at the top.

I had lots of fun with this page, it was a complete girly girl effort....so not like who I am in real life.  Ladies of the Cookbook Circle, I know it's a bit much, but I hope you like it anyway.  Thanks for a great year!

My Ghoulfriend and Potion No. 3

A couple more halloween cards to share today.  I love to make halloween cards.  These two cards use cut its from Lettering Delights.  Frankenstein, his ghoulfriend, and the cute little witch and her bottle of witch's brew are all from LD.

The Frankenstein card is for my son, Justin, who is 9 and loves corny jokes.  Frank is the outside of the card and the skeleton with the tulle skirt is the inside.  Right up his silly humor alley.

Potion No. 3 is is for my Maddie.  She's 13 and a bling queen.  She will love the glitter on this one.

This cute little witch comes from SVG Cutting Files...yep, she started life as a "useless SVG" as my friend T. referred to her.  Used Make the Cut and my Cameo for this one...and some cute K & Company paper, a glittery spider, and fabulous purple twine from T. (the mean one).  

A Shameless Scraplift

and I love it.  Heather Hoffman from Houses Built of Cards made the most darling wall hanging for a niece she is expecting.  I loved it so much, I wanted to turn it into a card.  Her wall hanging is here.  This is my card version of her beautiful project.  I used the new Suburbia cart for the baby.....isn't he/she cute.  Yep, don't know if we will be adding a boy or a girl to the family, but we will find out next month.  This is for my nephew's (I wish I could type wife, but alas) girlfriend.  They have been together for over 10 years, but no ring yet.  Here's hoping he grows up soon.

Too Simple to Post

....but here it is anyway.  A quick project for my daughter's dorm room door.  When I moved her in this fall, I saw all these decorated doors, and knew the cricut mom had to take a stab at a project.  She is on the ambulance crew at RIT (the RIT Tigers and mascot Ritchey) and got certified as an EMT before school let out in May.  It was her freshman year, and can I brag a little?  She a 4.0 chip off the old block.  lol.  She plans to become a research doctor and wants to find a cure for cancer.  Couldn't be prouder of this kid...even if she changes her mind along the way.  Speaking of curing cancer and brilliant doctors - Hello T.!  

Chef Bug-ardee

This is another recipe card for the Cricut Cookbook swap....in my favorite category...desserts.  I used one of my kids' favorite recipes...nothing too exotic from me in the recipe category on this swap.  It is a 6 x 6 card that was inspired by a tag I saw when I recently participated in a stick pin swap.  It was made by Colleen (gonescrappin on the MB).  You can see her adorable tag and stick pins here.  I just loved her bug - and when I was thinking about what I would do for this next swap, this idea popped into my head.  Thanks, Colleen!  I love it when that happens.  I  had to sit down and make a prototype right away.  I wasn't too happy with the results at first, but with a little assistance from Sis Patterson over at Paper, Craft, and Scissors I was able to tweak it into something that I think is cute...and so fitting for this swap.  Thanks for use of that amazing creative eye of yours, Sis!  My cute crocheted butterfly comes from my sweet friend Tatiana over at Created by Tatiana.  She has an etsy store where she sells her gorgeous crochet creations.  This card may be my favorite of all the recipe cards I have created for this swap so far.  I love the symbolism of it.  I know every time I see it, I will be reminded of this fun swap and these fabulous ladies who have made it such a memorable adventure.

Peanutty Chocolate Banana Bread

Another 6 x 6 recipe card for the cookbook swap I am in.  This is recipe card number 4 out of 6.  Can't believe there are only 2 more pages to go and this project will be complete.  It has been a joy to work with the 9 ladies of my group on this.  I wish you could see my spectacular cookbook!  I need to go buy a fireproof safe to store it in.

This page was done with From the Kitchen and New Arrival.  I did my prototype in pink and then decided to change the colors for the dozen cards I completed for the swap because I feel that I work in pink too often.  It's my favorite color and I can't help but be pulled to use it.  I went in a direction with color that I don't usually go.  And I like them!  The oven door opens to reveal my recipe.  I will add a card in there as well so its easy to use if someone actually decides to make it.  This recipe is one of my favorites too.  Something about peanut butter and bananas....yum.

By the way, I am having trouble with my blog.  lol.  Operator Error I am sure.  I hear that no one can comment unless you are a "member."  I didn't change anything and haven't had time to really sit down and figure out what happened.  Thanks to my friends for letting me know....and sorry that I am not more blog savvy and can't fix it. ;)

Pulled Chicken

This is my 3rd recipe card for the Cricut Cookbook swap.  It is a 6X6 card.  The recipe tucks into a slot behind the hills.  Poor chicken.  She makes me laugh, but I feel kind of bad for her if I think about it.  :)  I have received some amazingly fabulous recipe cards, and am thrilled this swap has gone as well as it has.  I am thrilled to have met 9 fabulous ladies and learned a bit about them in the process.  Next month, I get to meet three of them in person.  We are traveling to CT to meet for dinner and swap the 4th page of the cookbook in person.  I can't wait to finally meet my New England swap partners.

Happy Birthday, Ben

My son was invited to a sleep over birthday party for his friend, Ben.  The plan was to have a back yard camping experience.  They got to do everything, but finish the night in the tents before it rained.  I thought this shaped card was the perfect way to wish Ben a happy 10th.

Happy Birthday, Maddie

My beautiful daughter turned 13 and asked for a scooter for her birthday.  Made the card kind of a no-brainer.  Thank you, Maddie.  Here is the card I made to go along with her gift.  Her cake also was made to match the card by the very talented Audra at Mad Hatter Bakery in Newport, RI.  She was thrilled with everything.  Now if I could be thrilled with these teen years, all will be well.  I have to thank my friend, Tatiana for the crochet butterfly on this card.  She has opened an Etsy store and sells her fabulous crochet creations if you are interested.  You can visit her store here for more information:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/CrochetEmbellies  She will do custom orders for you too.  Love her....and her work.

I BEE so grateful

I needed a thank you card and wanted to be punny....so unlike me, right?  This is what I came up with.

Edited to add:  The honeycomb came from the Silhouette store.  I welded two of the solid shapes together to make the card base.  Super simple.  The bee is an SVG that I got from Paper Crafting World here.  I copied the wings and resized them smaller so  I could get two  layers of wings.  I also used the shadow feature to make a shadow layer to place my bee on.  Then I cut an extra body so I could trim the head portion off with scissors and add a dimensional under the face so it would stand away from the body.   I love this bee and am sure you will see her again.  The sentiment is on the small solid honeycomb shape with a shadow layer made around it.  I love how this duplicates the card shape.

A Card For Avery

There is a woman on the cricut circle board who has asked for cards for Avery, who you can read about here.  This is the card I made to send out to her next week.  I hope Avery likes pink.  :)  I have to thank Tanya for posting her recent spool card.  You can see her beautiful card here.  As soon as I saw it, I knew I'd try one, but I didn't think it would be this soon.   Thanks, Tanya.

A First Communion Shaped Card

This card was made for my son, who makes his First Communion on the 29th....in case you couldn't tell. ;)  I used a png file from here for the First Communion boy.  The rest of the shapes were pulled from the internet and traced and manipulated in Make the Cut.  I love the combination of my Cameo and this software.  And, yes, I know flowers and bling for a boy?  This is a big day....he will have to overlook it!  Thanks for visiting  me today!

Soups/Salads Recipe Page

This is a recipe page for the 6 x 6 cookbook swap I am in with some members of the cricut circle board.  A quick thank you goes out to my friend, T., who looks at these and gives me her honest opinion.  It's hard to judge your own work, and I want it to be good for my swap partners.  Another shout out goes to T. for sending me the ribbon I used on this card and the background paper.  She knows what I need before I need it.  How lucky I am to have found such a connection.  I also added a Venus Di Milo statue charm to the top of the pot.  It is a little silver piece that I got from ebay.   My much missed and adored mom sent me this recipe years ago, and it has become a favorite of my family.  It is simple and tasty, and perfect on a cold winter afternoon with grilled cheese.

Eggcellent

I am on a roll....a cute little Easter chick SVG cut on my cameo.  The chick, eggs and basket are from My Scrap Chick.  And that is one of T.'s crochet flowers on the basket handle.  This one is for my Maddie.

An Easter Lamb

For my college kiddo.  The lamb and butterfly is from the Silhouette store.  And, yep, that is my crooked sewing.  I am going to try to do this more....and I need LOTS of practice.  ;)

The End

This adorable bunny butt is for my son to give to his CCD teacher as a thank you tomorrow.  It's the last class of the school year, and he is thrilled.  Now begins some spring soccer.  The file is an SVG from My Scrap Chick called Bunny Trio.  The bunny's tail has liquid applique and coarse glitter on it.  Couldn't resist adding a little bow to the bunny's ear as she bounds off in excitement that her successful year has come to a close.

It's Not Your Look That Matters

I am loving this new machine.  Today, I made a card from a Lettering Delights SVG and a coloring page from here .  I pulled the coloring page into MTC and did a pixel trace.  Some slight editing of the image, and like magic, I have a bathtub that is perfect for my Lettering Delights girl, who is from the set Slumber Party.  I must find a way to walk away from this machine.  ;)

We Miss You Berry Much

Made the strawberries and basket that I seem to see everywhere.  Couldn't help myself.  Used my Cameo and two Silhouette store files for this one.  I have already had a request for a second.  These are really cute!

Queen For A Day

This 3D code and card are for my sister, Lisa, whose birthday is in a couple of days.  The cone is the perfect size to tuck a bouquet of colorful flowers into.   I wish I could photograph it with the flowers, but I will pick them up on my way to her office on her birthday.  I plan to tie the card around the flowers.  I think it will look very cheery with all these bright colors.

This cone, card, and the little emblem on the crown are all from the (*gasp*) Silhouette store.  My friend Tatiana made me buy a Cameo.  ;)  And, I hate to say it, but I love it.  Don't worry, I covered my Cricut's eyes when I typed that.

Tickled Pink Tag

This tag was inspired by all the lovely shabby chic tags Joy Sikes makes.  The star, frame around the girl, and the tag shape are all from Art Philosophy.  The girl and the tickled pink saying come from a picture I found on the internet.  

This tag is for my cricut MB friend, Sis O'Snap.  We are in a recipe page swap together, and she sent me some fabulous Just Rite stamps goodies that I just love.  This was a real stretch out of my comfort zone, Sis, but those stamps did tickle me pink.  Thanks so much!

Hoppy Easter

See the tuft of hair on my bunny....my daughter Madison looked like this until she was 4.  I thought her hair would never grow and now it's thick like a pony's mane.

In response to some questions I have gotten on this:  The hinge is indeed a brad....I used a white pearl brad in the center of the two crocheted flowers.  The egg is from Easter 2010.  I did cut the zig zag portion in the middle of the egg by hand.  The bunny is from Simply Charmed.  If anyone uses Cricut Craft Room and would like this file, let me know and I will email it to you.  The egg is 6.5 inches tall (measuring the largest scalloped piece).  The bunny is 5 inches tall.  I did not cover the legs of the brad in the back, but now that Tatiana has asked, that is a good idea, and I will cover the legs with a green leave shape that I can allow to stick out from behind the flower as well.  The pink part of the egg was glued to the yellow scalloped egg before I cut the zig zag through the middle with scissors.  Then I used small round foam dots to attach the bottom piece of cracked egg to the white egg shape that is the back of the card.  This allows a small pocket just wide enough for the bunny to slip in and out of.  If I were making this again, I think I'd make the back portion of the card patterned, so when you opened the egg, you saw something besides white.  If you have any other questions, please ask.  I may not be quick, but I will respond.  Thanks for visiting me.

Dancing Queen

This fun and funky card was made for my daughter's 13 year old friend, who calls herself "Dancer Girl".  I used Rock Princess and Art Philosophy.  The background paper is so fun - it is flocked and fabulous.  Thank you to my friend, T., who picked out these funky flocked papers for me.  She says she is trying to make me as famous as she is.  That will never happen, but I do love these papers!  I hope we brightened up your afternoon with this one.  

Are You Going to Drink That?

I used dimensional paint on the foam along with coarse glitter....a Michele Kovack trick.   I also used crackle paint on the blue part of the glass, and the shamrock tied to the bow is another shrinky dink charm made with the imagine.  The outside of this says "Some say the glass is half full, some say the glass is half empty....."
The inside says, "I say, "Are You Going to Drink That?"  :)  Makes me laugh anyway.

I'm So Charming

I am in a charm swap on the cricut messageboards.  I had to make 25 charms.  I used shrinky dink inkjet plastic and the Greeting Cards Inside and Out imagine cartridge to make these.

I added a rhinestone over the diamond in her ring and then put UTEE over the charm and baked it.  The rhinestone held up perfectly, and it won't fall off as it is baked  into the UTEE.  I added two jump rings and put a pink bead on the top ring.  Then I printed the diamond ring image from the Greeting Cards Inside and Out cart and punched a couple of holes to thread a ribbon through the card and the charm.  They are packaged in lollipop bags from the craft store.   I really like how they came out, and will be making more for sure.

Mikey Turns 2

My incredibly adorable nephew, who I don't see nearly often enough, just turned 2.  I was at the hospital with his mom the night he was born, and he came into the world giving me a heart attack.  He didn't exactly choose the easiest entrance, but, he's made up for it by being an easy going, funny, adorable kid....I guess that's all about to change though. ;)  To welcome the terrible twos, I couldn't resist a little Elmo.  My own daughter used to get excited beyond belief when the Elmo's World music came on.  She would dance and run around shrieking in front of the tv every single time.  It is such a great memory.  I will always adore that little red monster.  Maddie used to call him MoMo.  We took her to Sesame Street Place to see him in a live Elmo's World show once.  I will never forget the look on her face when he came out.  Money well spent.

Anyway, the card.  The fabulous plaid paper came from a friend I loving like to call Mr. Ed.  Thanks, T.  She is the reason I now own PK stamps too.  She makes the best faces.  I'm still learning, but you really can't go wrong with these cute stamps.  The 2, Elmo, and the balloons are all from Elmo's Party.  The present is from the Celebrations cart.  Thanks for coming by.....and reading all my ramblings.

The More Candles, The Bigger the Wish

Made this card and gift bag for my brother, whose name is not Face. ;)  My brother, Dave, has Downs Syndrome and is the most amazing person I know...and he's a lot of fun.  The Face written on the tag is short for Funny Face....as in Uncle Funny Face.  He came to see me when my first daughter was born 19 years ago and I told him I was going to train her to call him Uncle Funny Face.  He's reaction was, of course, you better not.  That was all I needed.  All 3 of my kids call him Uncle Funny Face.  And I call him Face for short.  Years ago, he sent my daughter a birthday card and signed it "Uncle Fanny Face."  He almost sealed his fate.  He is lucky I didn't give him a new nickname, don't you think?!  Dave turned 42 on Valentine's Day.  He was supposed to only be here for about 14 years, according to the doctors when he was born.  He is a gift...an eternal kid...and we are lucky to have  had him for so  long.  Happy Birthday, Face.

The vellum window in the card was inspired by Cindy Royal.  I thought that idea was so cute.  She is such a fabulous designer.  I used my imagine and the Greeting Cards Inside and Out cart for this one.  I love that cart.

A Card for Trin

Tanya, a great blogging friend, was looking for card donations for a little girl she knows who is battling the same type of cancer my Dad had.  So, my daughter, Maddie and I shook off the feeling of sickness and sadness and got to work.

We altered a key first.  We sanded the key then applied 3 or 4 coats of acrylic paint.  Then we painted on a layer of crackle accents.  When it was dry, we stamped on a PK face and inked her cheeks with a pink pen.  Then we rubbed brown and gold ink on the key with our fingers.  We laced a ribbon through the key hole (it is behind the hair, so you can't see it) and then added some DMC floss and made pigtails with tiny twine bows.  That may have been the hardest part of it all.  We put some bling on the cut part of the key and then I sewed a gathering stitch into a piece of pink tulle and we glued and trimmed and cut until we were happy with the effect and thought it looked like a dress.  We added a bow and some tiny pearls, and then sat back and admired her for a while cuz she wore us out.  Here she is ready for her close up:

The next step was to decide what to put her on.  I immediately thought that the princess receiving the card needed a crown.  So with Sweet Treats and a little bling from my mother in law, we ended up with a cute, princess worthy Valentine crown.  I decided that I was going to try one of those Art Philosophy roses my friends Joy and Tatiana are so good at.  Whew!  They aren't easy.  I only liked one out of the three I cut and rolled.  I have to look at some tutorials on that.  Then I tied the altered key onto the crown and put a couple of tiny foam dots behind the bottom of the key to keep it in place.  This makes the key easily removable to tie on a backpack zipper pull or anywhere else you might want to tie a key that has been given  new life as a ballerina princess. ;)  When all was said and I done, Maddie and I sat back and thought we had done alright. I really hope it brings just a little sun to Princess Trin's day.

You're SCENTsational

Used Campin Critters for this one....obviously. ;)  It's for my hubby.  The little sign on the outhouse says "You're SCENTsational" and the inside says "Thanks for putting up with all my crap.  Happy Valentine's Day."  Romantic huh?  Lol.
