Eye of Bat

I made this little halloween shaped card with the From My Kitchen jar and Simply Charmed for the bat wings and the pumpkin on the stick pin.  The stick pin was made with a head pin again.  I see lots of these home made pins in my future.  I wanted to make the jar with acetate, but with the dimensional googly eyes, the acetate wasn't working. I think I know how to do it now, but I was too lazy to go back to the drawing board with this one and compromised by using a plastic ziploc storage bag.  It was fairly easy to hot glue the plastic to the back of the white card piece...only two burned fingers.  :)

Trick or Treat.......Smell My Feet

A pumpkin with feet!  I've gone over the edge.  Yesterday I was chatting with my friend Tatiana on Facebook.  She has recently completed the most gorgeous set of kitchen themed cards with Nifty Fifties.  She said, "What cart do you want me to explore next?"  Really, I get to pick?!  So, after thinking I would stick her with Sesame Street (ha!), we thought Simply Charmed might be fun.  I decided I would make a card along with her.  I am surprised at how much I was looking forward to seeing what we both came up with.  This was incredibly fun!  She was headed to the park with her girls and her gypsy, so I knew I had to get started.  As I walked away from the computer, the phrase "trick or treat, smell my feet popped in my head."  I had been looking at these cute pumpkins on Simply Charmed, and the idea that I could put feet on a pumpkin came to me.  I sketched it out so I wouldn't forget and got to work in Design Studio last night.  I designed and cut it, but didn't assemble until this morning.  I decided to try an idea I got from one of the fabulous designers on the Cricut Circle blog and make my own stick pin using a head pin.  The head pin has a flat plastic top where I glued on a spider charm (with hot glue) I found in my button stash.  Then I added the shiny beads using Glossy Accents as glue.  There is a picture of the card open and you can see the head pin clearly if you're not sure what kind of pin I'm talking about.  I found the head pins at Joann's.

I am kind of disappointed that my pictures of this card don't do it any justice. It's beautiful in person.  The tombstone is made out of paper Tatiana sent me.  It has a subtle damask pattern overlaid with sparkly glitter.  The paper is absolutely gorgeous.  My daughter is begging me to let her have this one.  ;)  We'll see, young pumpkin head.

A Quick Teacher Gift

This was a fast project for my son to give his teacher this year.  Don't think there will be too many handmade crafts for Mr. Capaldi this year.  My son is really enjoying his class, but Mr. Capaldi is not a lover of the crafts. ;)

Unbearable Gift Bag

Morning,
This is for my "Katie collection."  I made this bag topper and put some Haribo gummy bears in the bag.  Yuck, but she loves 'em.  The cute little beehive tag says "Our hive is unbearable without you."  I made this with elegant edges for the topper shape and george for the bear.  The hive is from sentimentals, and the bee (Joy's bee - thank you my dear) is a sizzix die.  Three weeks worth of craft projects for her.  I'm on a roll.  Let's hope I don't fall off the barrel.  ;)  Thanks for taking a peek.

Happy Birthday Kearly

September is my birthday month.  More posts in September than I make all year.  ;)  Another sweet niece of mine has got a big one coming up....18!  I have always made her soccer cards, so she'll probably pass out when she sees this girly thing.  :)  I hope she likes it anyway.  I made the envelope with George.  The cake is from Something to Celebrate.  I put a white rounded square on the back of the cake so I can write my message.  I think it's kinda cute, but I'm nervous she won't like it.  Pink and bling are  not her thing, but an Auntie can hope!

Happy Birthday Erin

This card was made for my niece with the Something to Celebrate cart.  It has a great card function, and I didn't have to weld a thing.  My 8 year old son picked out the gold heart button on the gift.  He did good, me thinks.  And, you can't see it well, but I fought with some pink tulle and finally got it into a position I liked behind the flower.  Sometimes I win!  :)  I also used my sewing machine to stitch the red around the edges of this one.  It was much easier than I feared, and when I remember to do this, I will be using my sewing machine again.  Thanks for looking and any comments.

Poppin' By To Say "Hi"

This is a card for my dear daughter, Kate, who's enjoying her new college life.  Happy she's happy, but I miss having her around.  I plan to send this to her with a box of her favorite microwave popcorn.  I made it using Design Studio.  I used George and Slumber Party for this.  I had to cut two pieces of the card that slides in the popcorn box and I glued a flat popsicle stick between these two layers.  I found that the popcorn was heavy and drooped a little without the reinforcement.  I think she's going to like this one.  My other kids have given the "thumbs up."  :)  Thanks for stopping by!
